cognitive-behavioral therapy, a textbook by tao lin

this book is coming out may, 2008; it will be my first textbook, you can now review it on amazon

go here for information about reviewing books on amazon and selling gift cards on ebay

in the future people will search cognitive-behavioral therapy on the internet and find only this book; people suffering from severe depression who already tried transcendental meditation and 'just be nice to everyone' will be unable to find the correct techniques to prevent them from killing themselves; normal people clicking on the internet to find information to copy and paste into their english composition essays will not be able to find the sentences that they need in order to write their essay; some people who don't know what 'tao lin' is and feel frustrated and don't want to work anymore will give up and assign my textbook to their psychology class; al gore will make a movie with charts showing how this book is ruining the world, he will point at a chart, there will be a scene of him hanging out with his family, he will point at another chart, the movie screen will show a cow on a field, al gore will reminisce in voice-over about enjoying the tranquil peacefulness of a single cow on a verdant field in springtime as a young al gore

holy crap that is so pretty. now you have many pretty green and pink things. you should forgo wearing so much black for green and pink. you will be like physiologically marketing your books. it will have a pavlovian affect on people, they will be all like, hm that pink and green man makes me want to read something simple and existentially fucked when i am feeling really bored and alienated.

sorry i drank too much coffee this morning.
(i just did a spell check on this comment, and i spelled all the big words right, but failed to spell 'something' right)

I searched for "cognitive behavioral therapy" and found this site. This depressed me more than I had been previously depressed, which was to some degree. I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy now.

And then these comments made me sick to my stomach.

Tao, I got your package in the mail today. Mail from New York to Massachusetts is fast. I like that. I am going to open it now. I will write you about it later, I think. Also, happy Halloween. It's very autumn here with the cold, sweet wind and the orange leaves. I think I am starting a blog soon. It will be called hallucinating bear, I think, and will first include poems I have written about bears and dinosaurs and death. And maybe pictures I took this afternoon and last night of neighborhood Halloween decorations. Or maybe not.

Tao, the package is great. I was going to e-mail you but I fell asleep. I am going to watch the movies you sent this weekend. Thank you. I like the poem "Are We Making Money Right Now?" a lot and the others too. Short and good. The anthology you edited, especially the Ben Lerner poems and Trinie Dalton story. Have you seen her new book? It is a book about unicorns with called "A Unicorn is Born" with drawings of unicorns and psychic phenomena and gold. There are also stickers of unicorns in the back. I don't know how I feel about unicorns but I like her book. It is very surprising and sweet.
